Service Learning (Values-in-Action) Facilitation Training for Educators & Student Leaders

Service Learning or Values-in-Action is an important platform where participants can serve and learn more about themselves and the communities they serve in more meaningful ways.

This facilitation training workshop for educators and student leaders over 4 half days aims to provide workshop participants with an overview of Service Learning and explore the motivation as well as skills & knowledge to design and facilitate student learning through VIA projects.

The workshop can be done either separately for educators and student leaders or as a combined workshop comprising both educators and student leaders. It aims to make the participants effective servant leaders and VIA Champions, well versed with designing and facilitating the VIA experience and learning.

Participants will have a hands-on experience in a VIA project of their choice and undergo the whole process of exploring the needs of the community, designing, carrying out and reviewing meaningful programmes. Participants will also learn tools of appreciative inquiry, sense making and the crucial skills of facilitation. Participants will practise how to effectively facilitate with students and draw life lessons from their VIA experiences to consolidate the students’ reflections and learning.
